Cappuccino Machine: DeLonghi EC702
User Rating: 3.4 out of 5 stars!
A very popular brand of cappuccino machine is the DeLonghi EC702 15-Bar-Pump Espresso Maker. It features a number of extras that make brewing and building the perfect espresso much easier.
One of the biggest attractions of this cappuccino machine is the overall design. The stainless steel main unit looks fabulous and the design also turns out to be very practical. For instance, there is a larger-than-normal amount of space between the base and bottom of the filter holder. That allows users to put the espresso in a large cup, which is not the case with many rival models.
The steamer nozzle and spill tray are also easy to clean and it uses the popular ESE pod system. The heating plate on top of the unit is also both convenient and easy to use.
This cappuccino machine is noisy while the coffee is being produced. But the noise only lasts about 15 seconds and it’s a common issue with similar units. The lone design complaint is about the positioning of the frothing wand. It’s located a bit close to the unit and that sometimes makes it difficult to use effectively.
It’s important to note the unit is lightweight, which can make it difficult to use the steamer wand. The other issue is that the porta-filter is made out of plastic and it tends to leak water since it’s actually made out of two pieces of plastic.

While it’s not quite as fancy as the top-of-line units, the DeLonghi EC702 15-Bar-Pump Espresso Maker is well worth the money and a great choice for someone looking for a mid-range cappuccino machine. There is a built-in tamper, but it’s better to buy a stainless steel one to use instead. The only other thing you might need is a coffee grinder, but otherwise this cappuccino machine includes everything you need to make a great espresso.
