The Saeco Odeo machine has two sub models. One is Saeco Odeo Go and the other one is Saeco Odeo Giro. The Giro is more expensive but has the nice feature of adjusting not only the length of your coffee, but also the strength by choosing the ground coffee quantity. It’s called the Optidose system and it gives the Giro version a great advantage.
You can choose from 7 to 10.5 grams of coffee and from 1 to 8oz of water. There are a lot of combinations available, so you can experiment with it and find the coffee which best suits your taste. Another feature that the “Giro” model has and “Go” doesn’t is the so-called Rapid Stream Technology. It gives you a fast change between brewing and steaming, taking less than twenty seconds to switch from brewing to steaming, and vice versa. So if you want to make cappuccinos faster, this will help.
Everything else is exactly the same as the Odeo Go. Even the design is the same. According to the official website, the customers are way more satisfied with the Giro version of the model, and I also would prefer it instead of the Go version (unless I had a limited budget for a coffee machine).
You get the ceramic grinders. This is a revolutionary feature in coffee machines. It keeps the aroma of the beans for brewing because they’re not heated so much when grinding. This alone is a big plus. But they’re also way stronger than steel grinders and will work properly for much longer. Another big plus is that they’re quieter. The machine is still pretty noisy but that’s normal for a coffee machine, and you forget that with just a sip of your precious coffee. If you want a tea, you can get hot water with just a push of a button.
Saeco Pre-Brewing System
Another amazing feature is the pre-brewing system. What does it do? It moisturizes already ground beans right before brewing. This process releases the full aroma potential from your ground coffee. Also, each ground coffee dose is for one shot and every time you want to make another the machine is grinding a new dose. That way you get freshly ground coffee beans. All these guarantee that your coffee will have an amazingly good flavor and all your guests will love your coffee drinks.
You can use any cup you want. No need to worry if you prefer tall cups; there’s enough space for every cup because of the adjustable tray. You could even put your coffee in a thermos and go on your journey wherever it is. You can enjoy a picnic with delicious coffee drinks. Or you can drink your fresh and flavorful coffee while you’re driving to work.
This espresso machine comes with a cappuccinatore adapter, which you don’t need to use if you can use Panarello – But if you choose to use it, you’ll be amazed how long-lasting the microfoam of your milk will be. Every espresso fan should try this.
One disadvantage of this machine is that there’s no bypass option. You can’t make coffee with pre-ground beans. However, if you buy your coffee in beans you’ll never even notice that. Maybe a slightly bigger water tank would also be good for this machine, but if you use it at home you should be OK with the 1.5 liter tank.
Saeco Odea Giro comes in black by default. There is also the grey version which is called Saeco Odea Giro Plus. And it’s more expensive, which doesn’t make sense to me. But still, if you insist on having the Plus version, you could add about fifty dollars more.
